About Ledgemarch
A small US team that works only on Progress OpenEdge.
Why a firm that does one thing
Ledgemarch is a small US engineering team that works only on Progress OpenEdge: ABL applications and the OpenEdge databases under them.
A great deal of mid-market business still runs on OpenEdge. Manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, logistics firms, healthcare services companies and specialty lenders run ERP and line-of-business systems written in ABL, some of them vendor products with years of customization, some built in-house in the 1990s or 2000s. These systems work. What tends to be missing is time and people: the release is old, the original authors have moved on or are about to, and the one remaining developer is busy keeping the lights on.
The usual options are not a good fit for that situation. Vendor services teams are sized for large programmes. General ERP practices often have one Progress person. Staffing marketplaces can find a developer but not a plan. We focus on the work in between: getting estates onto a supported release, keeping the database healthy, and modernizing the application at a pace the business can absorb.
What to expect from us
- Senior US engineers who know ABL and the OpenEdge database, and who do the work themselves.
- Written findings, plans and runbooks rather than verbal assurances.
- Rehearsals before anything irreversible.
- Hourly time and materials billing, scoped in an initial conversation.
- Honest advice, including when the right answer is to change very little.
